I know a few breeders that keep their lights on 24/7 during breeding season, and always have, without any problems of fertility.

My friend told me the best ones are simple 4x4x4 pens for the more dual purpose type birds.

They will have a black scab for a couple weeks but should be healed within 3-4 weeks. You could still show him as long as it doesnt look too bad.

Here are my Buffs that I just picked up at the Ohio National show. Was honored to be able to acquire these wonderful birds from Alan Ammarell.

I think I know of five people, though two of them were talking about getting out of them I believe. Not all five have to show birds at the qualifying meet, they just have to send in affidavits saying they have had them

I wasnt sure so I asked Walt Leonard of the APA Standard Committee he said that the people on the affidavit have to be members the whole 5 years.

Yes it was Don. I picked them up at the show. I wasnt able to get a picture but Neil Grassbaugh got a good shot of one in his photo box, waiting until he has had time to get it sent to me

In the bantams blacks and whites are pretty close in their quality. One obstacle you have with whites is that they are harder to keep clean than the blacks, which isnt necessarily a bad thing when one is learning to breed and condition birds for show.

To each their own, I would rather have a bird with great type but too much fluff over a bird with no type, and less fluff. I do think some females that have the English line influence have too much of a cushion but haven't seen any that look like cochins..... especially in bantams.

One problem I could see happening with those pens is birds brushing up against the wire and breaking their feathers.
