Has anyone ever dealt with them? How did you rid your birds of these pest? We dont get them here in the Northwest. The birds came from another state like this. I have tried the pour-ons and they are still alive. I just covered the birds heads in vaseline tonight.

No, it does not. I thought if I post on here and get everyone's knowledge we can figure out what works so no one has to go through this headache.
Julie I will win this battle for sure!!!

No problem!! We don't even have dog fleas here. We are lucky, but we still medicate the guard dogs every year once or twice and are careful to check the horses often.

Christina, Did you try Hard Hitter? Dog flea collar or flea powder for dogs? The pest strips that hang? Dog flea and tick spray? They should not be too hard to get rid of. Flea bath possibly for dogs? There are many things out there to try. Good luck.

I typed stick tight fleas in the search and did a little reading. I think I would try the flea shampoo and let it stay on for 10 minutes to kill them things. It's hard for me to think Ivomec will not work. You can put 1/2 cc in a 50 lb dogs mouth that is covered with ticks and fleas and in 2 or 3 days they are gone. Must be a tougher flea.

Might also try "Raybon 50 Wp" if you can stand the cost. It is supposed to be close to the old "Roost Paint".

The Ivomec will probably work but those fleas are really stuck and it takes a while to be able to see if it is working. Years ago I received a trio of game chickens from one of my customers in Guam and they had stick tights after spending 30 days in quarantine. I tried everything and finally got rid of them with flea shampoo treatments everyday for 4 days in a row. A poultry science professor at Texas A&M said let it soak once you get them lathered up because a lot of it's effectiveness is because it smothers them. I don't know about that but it got rid of them for me.
