Heading to Tucson tonight for the Tucson Poultry, Pigeon and Fancy Fowl Club show this weekend. I'll try to get some pics posted when I get back. I entered 4 out of my 5 orpingtons, hoping they do pretty well. (I'm nervous though since one of the judges is the man I bought my orpingtons from last year!) Not sure if there will be other orpingtons though, they seem pretty scarce in AZ.

I would say it won't matter to him where you got them, he's going to pick the best in his mind.

I would say it won't matter to him where you got them, he's going to pick the best in his mind. I agree, and I was not so nervous about that, as I was nervous about making a good impression and "proving" that I can do well with them. I wanted him to know they have been in good hands I guess. I don't have pictures yet, but the show has been pretty good. I think I heard that there were 1,260 entries, which is the largest show I've been to so far! There were 9 total orpingtons to my delight! 5 Buffs (4 of them mine), 2 blue females, and 2 black females. To my surprise and great delight, I won Champion AND Reserve English, both of my older birds got put on champion row! Was rather excited about that! I think Champion Large fowl was a white leghorn, and champion bantam was a rosecomb. Overall it was a really fun show! I'll try to get some pics tomorrow before we pack the birds up and post them sometime this week, for those interested.

Thanks guys It was a great show. I had my brother in law take some pics of my winning orpingtons so as soon as he emails them to me I'll post them. The show ended well today so I'm pretty happy. I forgot to mention that there were three bantam orpingtons apart from the 9 large orpingtons. 2 black and 1 buff. None for sale like I hoped, but it was nice to see a few anyways. Now I have to get ready for the Safford, AZ show. Hoping to have some success there. First weekend in January if anyone is going to be interested in going! (January 4th)
