We entered our first show yesterday in Winston Salem NC. with a 9 month old English Orp. rooster (blue) & 3 black orp. bantams, We got best of breed & reserve class champion with the blue & best of breed with one of the little bantam pullets, I am just tickled to death to have done what we did, as this is our 1st show but not my last, thanks to everyone who gave me pointers on getting them ready to show. Roger, great. Have you ever seen so many Old English. When I moved to east TN and started going to a few show I was stocked to see no orps. Tommy Stanley was the only guy that showed any. Now he's gone but Terry has fired up with some nice orps both bantam and stds in east TN. Was Mrs Pittman there?

I could do a dance I am so happy for you. I think you will win again if you start showing. Post some pics if you took some so we can see the chickens in the pens. I saw your ribbons and that is great. You need to send photos to Christina so she can get them in the next all Orp

congrats Roger on the win at Winston-Salem. I showed 4 Black Orp bantams at the big Dalton Show this weekend (~2700 bantams - Old English Nationals). Got BB - but didn't even get a look for SCCL - a little disappointing.

Roger that is great. Get my some photos and I will hopefully be able to fit it in the next edition of the All-Orp.

We are just thrilled for you Roger... they are just all around good birds. I had no doubt that you were going to do well...it does seem the bantam classes are packed back this way, every color, variety you can think of..each one looks like a little porceline statues..rows and rows full..
