Has anyone started or got there pens set up for next year? All I have got done is think about it. I did turn on some lights today on my std buff females today so they could be thinking about it also. Every year I hatch alot of black bantams in Jan. and Feb. I have decited to wait and start that in March and April. I know one thing, they will not be as big at the fall shows. I visited with that RIR bantam guy from AZ last year at Shawnee show. He said most all RIR bantams was to big, you have to show younger birds. Thats where I got my thinking. Also I will save on 2 months bantam feed.

Don, I would be hatching if I had any eggs. I did get a egg today out of one pen I have set up and i have four chicks hatched from another and a few more of those to hatch. I will be working on a few more pens soon. Those girls you sent me layed a few eggs right after they got here and then decided to take a break. I am waiting. I have them in with a Chocl male I had and the male you sent in with my chocl females. one went broody but I have no clue if the eggs she is setting are fertile since I have't seen him breed the girls
