Thought I would share a few pics of our Mission trip to Guatemala. My 5th time going. Our team will never be the same. Guatemala is a beautiful country called the land of Eternal Spring. They grow crops year round. We road 100 miles from Antigua up in the mountains of Chiche where most of the people are of Indian decent. The people are poor and most have dirt floors and not electricty. Very loving and we were able to bring gifts to children we sponser that are fed twice a week at a feeding program and are given free medical and dental care by Living Water ministries. They feed 10000 children twice a week and have mission churches near every feeding program although they don't require them to come to their church and never turn a child away even if they are not signed up with Living waters. We have been friends with these missionaries for over 16 years.
There corn is over extremely tall. My husband in this photo is 6ft 5 in. and the corn is way over his head
This is a home we walked through the mountain trails to get to
We gave the children gifts and prayed for the family. They ended up coming to a church we were at the next nite and brought a gift to us of baked corn. They have to walk everywhere.
we were praying for them
My sweet husband giving candy to the children on the trail
Another family
Is this a beuatiful face or what
This is the girl my husband i support sporting a new jacket we carried to her and some hair bows. The team would not let me go because the elevation was nearly 8000 ft above sea level and rugged terrain climbing the mountain to her house.
My sweetheart ended up giving her his Bama hat and they taught her to say Roll Tide.
Another home visit. I am hoding a 8 day old little girl
This is her mother, grandmother and great grandmother
This was the team from our church. We were loading up to go out to homes . I have to admit they wouldn't let me ride in the backof the truck. Made me ride in a van and had a intern Dr. with me every where i went. They took really good care of me.
