Thank you guys, I have no idea. Is he a white sport or black sport? He came from black parents. American bred bird. From Danny Padgett.
I don't have whites yet. Hoping to get some at the Stevenson Show here in Washington State.
I do have blacks from Christina. What should I mate him to? Any suggestions please. The hen I got with him is also a sport and she is in with a jubilee Rooster (ginger color).

I don't know if you saw the pics I posted of unusal gene but looks very similar. I got mine from a guy who lives in Danny P area. Wonder if he got some from the same folks

They might be related, because you do not see to many lines of black Orpingtons in the United states that carry the mottling gene.

If there are a lot of black orpingtons in the US with the mottling gene, the mottle gene in them have been burried well. And is waiting for the correct mating to be able to express it self. Birds can carry genes for a long time that are not being expressed.
