Trio yesterday. I will set an see if they are fertile. I have promised my self only to hatch twenty chicks. This group is turning 9 months old this month. They should be really good by the time they finish out. The girls are laying large eggs. I guess because they have just started laying and they are this age. This is another boy I am using in another pen. I am going to separate him to a particular group of girls as soon as they start laying. I have him in with a few blue and black pullets right now. I have collected a few eggs. Only two girls are laying in this group yet. I want to put him over some hens if they ever lay again since their molt.

I just started setting eggs about 2 weeks ago. I have one Buff hen from last year's crop of Buffs and one of Fred's hens in the bator. All appear to be fertile. Then I have a Dick Dickerson Marans Cuckoo male in with two of my pullets. And appear to be fertile as well. And finally I have some eggs from a Blue pullet in with Harold and two other boys. A Black and a Blue but I am hoping Harold is the daddy their fertile as well. IF Harold's fertile eggs hatch and he is the daddy they would be a Lemon Blue looking Orp. Prolly not hatching a whole lot from that hen but am interested in seeing IF it is Harold as the daddy. He is an equal in my eyes far as Orp type goes with my Frank, the Brown Red looking cock I shown at Crossroads and the Central Indiana poultry Show.

Sad news is I don't know the date. I have been way to busy. I need to go candle again this week and see if I can guestimate. I am going to try an remember which day I put them in before I went to Lake City. I just set a few more yesterday and so I am writing that down.
