Pips&Peeps brought this up on another forum a few days ago and I thought it would be a neat project, from what it looks like and through a few google searches the color is a Blue Red Sport. I think these would be rather simple to create in the US, and possible to get the color in 2 generations. Heres a picture of a Harlequin Pekin

Bill I did originally say that they looked like lemon blue splashes but then looked around a little more to see I was wrong, the first picture that was posted on the other site showed red in the chest which BBR colored birds arent supposed to have but lemon blue birds do have. The Red Shouldered Yokohamas have really complicated genetics, they are Blue Red Sports but with alot more genes such as spangling and mottling.

Here is one that I can make for ya Jon. According to Marvin, who goes by the handle Nicalandia on BYC, I have what it takes to make Beige Orps. lololol Marvin says I need Dun which I have and Choc to make Orps that look like this color. Pretty cool looking. Anyone who wants to get into these I will make them IF they donate a Choc to the cause. And ofcourse you would get back some eggs after we have made them. JON? ? lolololol

This would be a next year end of the year plan. I am sure Christina would help or get someone with a spare Choc cock to use. Marvin narrowed down as my Birchen Marans cock Bruno as the culprit who is throwing my Silver Duckwings. So begining next season Bruno will have at a Silver Duckwing to make some more to share with folks. The rest of mine will go into my Silver Crele program. Remember that Dickerson Cuckoo Marans? He will be making Creles Marans right off the bat.

The hen I have that has much promise for this type of project, just wondering if I should take her to blue or splash??

Its a splash BBR bird, to do it the best way would be crossing a splash orp to a welsummer and crossing the offspring together. You will get these in the F2 birds if you hatch enough.

Some game breeders call that color Pseudo Pyles which is developed with a splash gene, and of course when you breed splash to splash they breed true. Splash BBReds or splash wheaten, splash cannot alter the red.
We have Blue wheatens and blue breasted reds so we have hatched splashes/ pseudo pyles.
A true Red Pyle is Dominant white on a Black Breasted Red. Dominant white can cover the Black but it cannot cover red
