The judge was Bowles who was reportedly to say this Champ English from a Russ Milkey breeding and shown and condition by Tony Charlton was the best Orp he felt since CA. Terry Disney had a very nice Black Orp pullet which took Reserve English. There was 2 very nice Buff pullet they had to beat from a breeder Mr or Mrs Pittman. Congrats to Tony and Terry!! Maybe my best bird was my Brown Red cockerel. Both Doug and Matt L said he looked liked an Orp. Matt said he could use a little more Orange in the kneck hackles.

No it was a Steve and Kris Pittman from Crawfordsville IN. I could not hold this Buff but I thought it would be the BB. Maybe that is why I am not a judge. lolol She got BV though This one RV

Bill, who is Russ Milkey? Don Russ is from Noblesville INDIANA. My very first Black Orps I got from him 4 years ago for $3 each per chick. Then when they started to grow out I liked them so much I called him back for a male. All he had were the brothers and discouraged me from wanting them and sent me onto Doug to get some other Black breeders names. Doug said Catalpa had good ones. Then when I called her she said she no longer had any and sent me to Julie and Christina. Russ is a great guy a former Notre Dame offensive tackle and is all about the breed and the hobby. He works as hard as anyone to better his line. And is wonderful to the little 4-Hers unlike one of the 4-H leaders I have mentioned recently. hopefully you all will get to meet Russ and his family at Crossroads.

Bill I was told that there were some good Buff Bantams at the show, do you see them or know who had them?

Sorry I did not get the coop number. You may want to write Doug and ask if he can tell you. The entries were shipped to him. I am sure they were there and I do recall seeing some that looked nice over at the Junior Show. I was focused on LF Orps and talking to a few of the folks who entered them like Russ and Terry Disney.

Don, in addition to my LF Orpingtons, I was also showing the string of Buff Plymouth Rock Bantams - if that be the Buff Bantams you are asking about? Also picked up a nice Black Cock Bird from Milken et al, and another young cockeral from Bill. Want to introduce both into my line this winter.
Doug and Crew did a fantastic job. It was our first time at Cental Indiana Show - and we had a great time. It's a long ways to drive, but we'll try to come back next year.
Hope to see everyone at Crossroads next week.
