I am always interested in how people have put their facilities together. Seeing the breeding pens, growout setups, and conditioning pens of others is very helpful when planning my future building projects.

Seems everyone is interested in Chocolates. (me too) Might be nice to put in an article about breeding bantams to Large Fowl as far as transferring the color. I think it will take 3 to 4 years of work but am not sure. It would be interesting to see or read about the process.

Christina, How about a genetic article in several different issues but not all of them in one. Since Chocolate is the hot topic do that one first issue, then the regular blues and include what is needed to produce the lacing because everyone thinks any black can be used with blues but if they do not carry the genes for lacing they will be too varied in quality degrees. Then do upgrading whites using blues and blacks. Next issue cuckoo breeding. Then producing clean whites from using cuckoos. Then there are all the new colors that are being imported that should last you for at least two years of articles plus an another article on shows, conditioning, show features, ect. And perhaps Dan Honour can help with some of his information on the proper Buff coloring and how to produce such. He has the book that he written with all his experience.

Christina, if you need someone to write something about this color stuff, I would be glad to ask Edgar Petty, he's not in the orp club, but is sharp on breeding color on chickens and I bet he would love to do it.

I think as someone who knows nothing about color genetics that it would be a very interesting subject.

You know, Terra has a nice set of pens, I sure not everyone has seen them, I saw the brooder deal on her site and I'm going to try that next spring.

I know some would gain from different breeding techniques. Like the one Robert Blosi described to me about his way of the Spiral breeding program he uses.
