I just love the last picture with the smut in the tail. She looks like she is going to have a big old head. She would be a breeder at my house. That smut keeps the good buff color. Your birds are alot like my guys, very young.

Glad to know they turned out. I know I need to come up with a new male for next spring. I got one last year and the hot weather got him. I got 2 or 3 young guys that look ok, but I would like to have a ace in the hole just in case.

This year I have hatched out mostly decent Buff cockerels. And only one or two pullets. I am already carrying the Terry Britt Buff cock I got at that Ohio Natl's show. You were there and seen him. And have one of the other Britt cock's boy who is decent These birds have alot of Tony Ewert blood in them. And I have one fine looking Akers cock I bought this spring to round out my Buffs. And far as the youngens goes, I am sure I can get some of you folks a decent boy IF you like. Here is an example of what I have. I have 2 or 3 other Buff cockerels like this boy He is somewhere around 5 months old He won an eating contest amongst my Buffs. He is the Stomach

Bill. haven't made a move on finding one . I do like one of my young ones, he is so young. I lost all my early hatched males in the heat. I would like a Clevenger (Coulter) line, but since Bob is out of the Buffs, they are hard to find. I know I will need one and when your guys grow up a little more send me a photo.

Here are some pics from this years hatch of Buffs. What do you think? This one is the biggest of the bunch but notice the brown flecking in the tail Steve

Don Yeah these are all around 5 months old. I will bring some to the Crossroads show. I may keep one of my lot. But I know I have 3 or 4 more who are decent. No where like Doug's. But respectable.

Bill, what I would like is a good shot of the UK blood if it was big. Real big. Then worry about getting the fluff off. Just a shot in and breed it back out.

As you well know Don these UK birds have alot of Cochin in them. And I have a Deorr Cochin hen who is pretty fluffy. I will put her in with my Akers Buff cock and see what comes out next season. Should have White legs and be fairly fluffy. For a Cochin she is a decent layers. And I will make a few American style UK Buffs for us to play with.
