Hi all and particularly to Jon for the warm welcome. Very much appreciate the opportunity to share news and pics from this side of the pacific with you. Thanks to the United Orpington Club BOD to provide me with this accessibility. In terms of Orpingtons in Australia the Orpington Club of Australia recently held its National show ( Sat July 9th). We had 373 birds on show with a Large Blue Ckl going Best Bird in Show. There were just under 100 large Blacks on show and the biggest entry of bantam Orpingtons ever. Show results are at this thread in the main australian Poultry forum which anypoultry enthusiast around the world is free to access. forum.backyardpoultry.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=7996977Hope you enjoy the thread? Standards wise we closely follow the British standard and are more Partington than Cook in style. Looking forward to sharing information and access to the soon to be relaunched Orpington Club of Australia website to UOC members and hopewfully we can organise reciprocal access on the forum for those that want to. Currently our Club website is at orpington.backyardpoultry.com/I show under the Waninga Orpingtons prefix and have won Best White at all the National shows for the last 4 years. To see the birds go to www.waningaorpingtons.weebly.comActually found out about the UOC via Google and one of our Large Buff Stalwarts Judy Witney who posted the thread on her website. Her's is the Alfred ( Large Buff Ck) pic on the Feathersite. That took me to the Cecil White article in the March 2011 issue of Exhibition Poultry and the pics of his birds. Just loved reading it. Look forward to sharing and learning more about world wide poultry phenomenon that are the Orpington breed. Best wishes. Martin D

373 orps would be alot. We have never had that kind of a number at our National. It would fun to go to a show like that and just look.
