Here are a couple of pictures of my now 6-1/2 month old pullet. These were taken over a month ago, this girl gets better and better looking every day (IMO)! I am hoping she is headed in the right direct, any insight from more experienced bantam members would be much welcome. *Just noticed that the pictures make it look like she has red in her neck, she does not, must be the flash and my cheap camera.*

I think blues are hard to breed. It's easier for me to get nice females. It seems like when I get a nice male and I put him up, it won't be a month and he will have a little red in the neck or saddle. Several years ago I put a Silver Laced Wyandotte male over 2 blue females. It has improved the lacing alot. A real even blue color and nice lacing. I took a blue pullet to the Ohio National when we had the orp national there and she was the best blue and she was a 1/4 wyn. Now they are bred down more. I guess they can't be to bad, Jim Hall is using one of my blue splashes on his bantams. If you still want some whites this fall, let me know and I'll send you a blue or two.

Oh Don, I would love some of your blues too! Thank you ever soo much. Now if fall would just hurry up and get here!! I am anxiously awaiting this pullet to go thru her first molt, curious to see if it helps even out her blue and take away the patchiness?? She has the most gorgeous round conformation, now if I can just get the correct coloring.

If you get time, look at Terra's blue orp bantams on her web site, she has some very nice ones. I guess she still has them, she was wanting to quit them.

I have never hatched this late. I guess if you have a warm area they will be good. I know standards don't grow as good in the fall.Don

Yeah, we have plenty of warm weather, it really won't get cold till November and we have plenty of heated areas as they are growing out till big enough to go outside. All of the chickens are in the barn, they will all get heat lamps all winter long too. Here's a picture of some of our runs and juvi grow out area

Nice, very nice. I don't think my birds would know how to act with pens like that. I asked Jon to help with some pic posting. If it don't get to hot I'm going to take a pic or two.
