Anyone going to Shawnee, OK for the Oklahoma State Poultry Federation Show? Was wondering if anyone knows whether there might be some bantam orps for sale at this show.

I am planning on being there and I know Don Chandler is as well. I don't have bantam but I bet Don could help you with who to talk to.

Last two years Fred and myself had all the orp bantams. This year I'm short, didn't hatch any till
late. If you need a pair of choc bantams I would be glad to give them to your son. Not the best but decent.

Not the best but decent. Thanks Don! I'd appreciate that, but my son is only a year and a half. I'm just looking for his bantams now so that I can learn how to care for them, groom them, and breed them so that in a couple of years when he starts I will know what I'm doing and can teach him. Also hoping I can breed a few show quality birds in that time and get rolling with them by then. How much are your bantams? |

I am trying to get myself into a position to get to Shawnee, but being in my first year of teaching and trying to purchase a house this month (hoping to move in within the next week or so), I may not be able to get off work and get myself that far this year. My brother-in-law is planning to attend with a few poultry associates from this district, so if I can't go he should be attending. I'm hoping to get myself stable and able to go next year and start being a regular.

It's at the Expo Center, it's on Hwy 177 south of I-40
