We have 4 (100%) English Buff Orp chicks Put two more fertile eggs in lock down a few mins ago. I am pretty happy considering the cold temps up here... I have been marking all the eggs I gather that are really cold with * sign ... to see if any of them would hatch.. Yep... they will I used the toe punch so there will be no confusion as to what is what

Renie, I picked up a couple of eggs after work they were absolutly frozen...Thought no chance they are going to hatch..put them in the cooler back room marked them frozen...they un-thawed slowly ...to my suprise, they hatched except the one I cracked to see if there was a bulls eye..it was frozen somewhat on the inside .. I was honestly shocked..they were like ice cubes..
Congratulations on the new babies, the EB are amazingly beautiful birds. cant wait to see them.

Had my last hatch finally. Gave a brood hen some chicks but she was indiferant about them. So gave her some eggs ready to hatch that I took from an ameraucana. One egg hatched and then this hen became a real mother to the other chicks. I then gave her the bulk of the last hatch. She is now a proud mother of 50+ chicks.
