You can get all of these old books for free on your e-readers most through Cornell free library..my favorite is standard bred orpingtons some of them go into great detail about how whites ect were created..I'm on the tablet or I would copy a few pages. They are all free....from shell to showroom, William cooks the orpington, standard bred orpingtons ect...ect....it is very interesting how they evolved, and it said a twinge of yellow will be seen now and again from the silver dorking added in whites and for a while the guy had a devil of a time trying to get rid of the extra toe..even in toel ess working culls.. And if you don't want any creaminess, old lady's would say..add some blue to it..they also compare how USA preffered the cobbier whites the Brits preferred the ones up on leg at that time period.you get a lot of insight into where they were and where they were heading with the different ops. One of the old books gives a very detailed color breeding descriptions, thou I'm never going to use that..some people would find it very useful and interesting..extreamly detailed what happens and selections for each new generation.
