here are 2 of my blue girls, the hen is about a year and a half old, the pullet only 5 or 6 months old. I'll try to get some actual straight on side profile photos. The hen went to a show last weekend (after finishing up that moult) and picked up best of variety.

Julie, Just weighed one of my two regular blues that came from you and Joy's line. She weighed 12+ #'s. I was very surprized that they go that big. I should have thrown her in with my bid white daddy instead of his son.

Harry some of them do get so big. I would love to see a pic of your big girl. I moved a young black hen the other day and didnt weigh her but I think she would have been a ten pounder.

Julie, I knew she was nice size but she is not as fluffy as some of my blacks. I have already had pullets this year that were 10#'s and some other hens that were 10#'s also. I am going to have to change roosters with her I think because even though the white younger male I have is great APA type he is not my biggest male. His dad is my 13# white APA male but I have cockerels in black that are 11#'s and they are UK type. I will see if I can email you a picture since I am not too good with the computer.
Julie, I forgot I do have one blue rooster I could put her to. He is a blue + lavender with UK blood and AUstralian Import blood (coronation sussex) in him, he is larger than one of the pictures that I show two blue lavender roosters on here but he needs a little more chest for me. He is big but did not weigh him lately.

Julie, Got her exact weight: 12 1/4 lbs the other one was small only 10 lbs. They are two years old and probably 100% UK but % don't interest me as much as conformation does.. I had black pullets this year go an easy 10 lbs but haven't weigh anything since I culled.

12 lb on a two year old hen is impressive. Email me some when you can.

Harry those were some really nice girls you showed me pics of. Totally imported looking. I mailed a pair of 8 week olds to NY on Monday. So far they have not made it. The boy weighed over two lb. The total weight before fruit for single stall box and two chcks was over 6 lb. I am hoping that is a good sign of things to come.
