Hi everyone, hope this finds you doing well. I wanted to bring everyone up to spead on a new program that has been quitely discussed till now to get the ball rolling. The UOC has graciously accepted the offer to start a Youth Program! This program will hopefully ensure orpington enthusiasts for years to come. We will work out the details soon but to give you an idea of what it's about; we want to offer all new youth a free year of membership to help get them started as well as use funds to pay for awards/prizes at poultry shows around the US. Who knows where this wonderful program can grow!!! With that being said this coming weekend Sept.22nd is our third Carolina Chickenstock (here in NC), weather is going to nice at 80 degrees and we are hoping for the best turnout yet! This event is special for a couple of reasons, 1) I will be promoting The United Orpington as much as possible with a banner and additional information in regards to the breed and club. 2)This event all raffle proceeds will go to start the new UOC Youth Program. We have some very nice items being donated to the raffle from indiviuals and bussinesses alike. Donations from Belle farm, Brinsea, Adozengirlz, EdiblePrintables, Tractor Supply, Duan Farm Supply and much more!!

We are not able to travel to NC doe this, but K is very interested in Orps. He would have some of all varieties except we don't have the space for them. We are looking forward to the information.

I dont know if you are fill up on offers/prizes? My hens are not laying at the moment, but if you want to put me down for a dozen postage paid blue and black APA birds for a prize for a youth? I would be glad to donate such a prize.

I visited with Mrs. Pittman today about the NC Chickenfest and I would have to say it was great. She made $536 for the UOC Youth Program. She is going to get with Christina and visit with her about what to do and all that stuff. Got a idea, let them know, if you want to help that would be better. Next year I want to send some birds to raffle off.
