I live in west central Oklahoma in the red. We did get a little shower this afternoon. Texas is not as bad as I would have thought. They was so dry for like 2 years. Gayle, Ill is about all red. This time of the year when you drive thur ILL it's so pretty and green and the corn is like 8 ft tall. I guess this year is out.

It is now 65 degrees and it is raining in this area of Illinois, the day started in the 80's Since the beginning of August we have had a few rainshowers and some cool down in temps. Today has been one of our better rain storms unfortunately we had some hail also. To bad we didn't have some rain like this in June and July, without the strong winds and hail of course.

This week we have cooled down in the 90's. One day we did a 85. We are going to get rain tonight, or we hope to get rain tonjght. Those weather guys miss more than they hit. Hoping the real hot stuff is gone.

We have just had two days without rain for two weeks. Everything is green here but was very humid today. Got to about 94. It is going to be cooler this weekend and already tonite was feeling much better. The peanut feild in front of me is so green and the cotton feild behind me is growing well. Looks good after being in drought for three years
Even one pond that has been completely dryed up for over year has a lot of water in it again. Gayle i am going to try and give you a call before I leave the country again. Been busy with grandchildren

I'm so glad it has cooled down around here at least a little bit. A couple weeks ago it was up to 112 and I lost several good birds. Strange how 95 feels cool after 110+.

Ziggy I have heard of lots of people losing birds to the heat. Lost two hens myself earlier in the summer. One black and one blue who was a favorite hen of mine.
