Gday all. Just thought I would bring you all up to speed that Australia's biggest Poultry show was held last weekend at the nations capital in Canberra. Held in every summer Olympics year this is the 4th edition of the show and this year attracted a maximum number of birds entered of 5267 ( with over 1400 entries knocked back due to no more pens being available). It was a massive affair and Orpingtons were on show in great force with 190 Orpingtons exhibited. Broken up into 127 Large and 63 bantams the Overall Ch Orpington of Show went to a Large Black Ckl exhibited by Martin Doulton. This bird also managed Res Ch Large Soft feather. Res Ch Large Orpington was the Large Black Hen shown by our youngest exhibitor Miss Rose Gibson. Ch Bantam went to a Blk Ckl from Allen Morton. Results can be found at www.rncas.org.au/Poultry2/site/results.phpTo view some of the winning birds go to waningaorpingtons.weebly.com/royal-canberra-national-poultry-show-results.htmlMore detailed information will be included in the Clubs next newsletter due out after the Southern and Northern Feature shows are held in late July. In the meanwhile the official pics will be posted on the Clubs website www.orpingtonaustralia.com/Best wishes M

Great looking birds Karl. Wish I could go to that show. Here we're lucky to have 20 orps at a show.

Thanks Christine. Received at this end. Our President is now going to chat to your President about formally becoming Sister Clubs.
All of us are very impressed with both publications- looks like Australia is going to follwo your lead with the Handbook!
Will catch up with the Ozzies at this weekends Orpington Northern Feature Show in Sydney- about 180 Orpingtons on show- so will keep you posted on the results and the conversations on 'virtually' getting together with UOC members.

Christina, I don't see a problem with the sister clubs. We might need to run it by the board. I think it would be great and we could learn something. Lord know's you never stop learning.
