Well after almost of year of molting I think Biggie is FINALLY finished (thought I do still a couple of brown feathers in his skirt). We have been over 100 degrees here and he has not been happy, thankfully he doesn't mind his daily hose down.

Couple of pics of my NUMBER ONE BROTTHER AND NUMBER TWO BROTHER, my breeding males I used this season. BOTH are 1/2 KORFUS & 1/2 Milkey males. FERAN I created first season with Christina's hens and one Milkey hen who I took to a Korfus cock NUMBER TWO BROTHER is BARR BRADY RUSS MILKEY hatched him out and he was raised by julie Walker and given to me for "FREE" last fall at our CENTRAL INDIANA POULTRY SHOW. That show is in mid Oct and is one of the best shows in the midwest. A must go for anyone wanting quality Orps and other breeds BARR BRADY BARR BRADY's daughter Her mom is the only one of two BUSTOFF daughters I kept. And we all know what is in him. Many times I was told to never use him. Up to the jury IF I did myself wrong by using him and now his daughter. [/img]

Had some saying this pullet above had a "CUT AWAY BREAST" on another site. Just wanted to help those who do frequent this site one the true interpretation of the SOP. After talking to several members and a few non members. One of my firends who is also an APA judge had this to say about calling this pullet having a "CUT AWAY BREAST". posted only part of his email. And it was removed leaving many to not know what is and what isn't a "CUT AWAY BREAST". Many frequent this site and the truth should be allowed to be told.
"You are not going to find many better breasted things (other than Pam Anderson) than that Black Orp female. Do not listen to those online people.
That is why I never go on those things.
Most are cuckoo.
Paul"
Thought his quote was too good to be not mentioned.
thank you Paul for coming up with such a quality comment.

If you have personal disputes, please use the PM button and not post on the forum. This is a place for sharing and learning. Lets all calm down and regroup.

I was asked by one of our forum's moderators to post pics of this Blue male. He is son from a pair of Blues I bought at the Ohio Nationals 3 years ago. His sisters have nearly identical full well developed breasts as the Black pullet as posted earlier, that some think has a "CUT AWAY BREAST". Knowing that the very same folks who all believe that Black pullet has a "CUT AWAY BREAST" frequently look at our UOC forum to hopefully learn what a quality Orp is, I am posting here rather then the place where they seem to feel free to incorrectly critique Orps. As you can see this male is in an open to the sunlite pen which has sun bleached his feathers to a brown. He is a true BLUE and nearly 13 lbs. Nice big head, nice long back with a decent top line. BUT MOST DEFINITELY has a 'CUT AWAY BREAST". I truelly hope that those who are not a part of the new click on the other site will learn what is a CUT AWAY BREAST". As it seems the others have an agenda all to their own. Topside shows a nice wide boy from front to back Front view shows clear what a 'CUT AWAY BREAST" is. When taken to his sister last year they produced only quality breasted birds. So you can still use a male with this obvious fault As said to me by the Moderator here yesterday. Those who have bought from a very popular breeder of ORPS, who does like to show pics of his BIRDS with his family members in the same pics, these buyers may not have to worry of this trait being passed down, IF HE USES a WELL DEVELOPED BREAST HEN like the Black pullet I posted a pic of earlier. IF he did not, those who have bought his birds will learn in a few months what they have. And these buyers are some of those which have incorrectly called my Black pullet as having a "CUTAWAY BREAST".

Another quality tips from an Orp breeder and one of our UOC members, and APA judge.
This is in refference to the tail angle and breeding.
"It is common in breeding certain poultry breeds to keep a male or female with a higher than prescribed tail angle. That’s how you correct a fault in others. For example, Orpington, Australorps and other breeds can tend to getting too flat backed after a few years. You correct that by breeding with a high tailed male; or female.
Guess you could ask, “WHATEVER HAPPENED TO BIRD OWNERS HAVING KNOWLEDGE OF POULTRY BREEDING”; It’s more common in Orpington females to have too low of a tail angle rather than too high; you need different characteristics (such as breeding with higher tailed bird) to improve a line."

I will no longer be concerned about those else where and what they want to think on how to make quality birds. They will find out eventually when they attempt to show their birds.

Thought you might ike to seee how the young Ckl has progressed. The Orpington Clubs southern feature was held last weekend here in Victoria Australia. 132 birds on show (88 Large 44 Bantam) and I am pleased to say that this Black Ckl went Ch Orpington on show. He is now 10 months old and has stuck on a bit of beef since he was first pictured in June. He has now won Ch Large Black at all three Club shows this year and Ch orpington at two ( beaten by a point into Res Ch at the other show) He is off to the breeding pen this week in the hope that like will breed like. All 3 judges have commented on just how big his chest is and how rounded it is. Regards from Australia Martin D more photos at www.waningaorpingtons.weebly.com
