HenThymes he is a pretty boy. I have 3 black cockerels left. I am trying to see which one turns out the best. I have downsized and am downsizing more to 4 black girls and 1 male as soon as these finish filling out. they are six months old. One of them is very wide Front to back. I hope you all do well in Indy. I won't be making it. I do have a grand child due to hatch at the same time.

Here is the male I was going to show at crossroads. Unfortuntly he is dropping feathers. His fluff is not that low it is just the angle I took the picture from.

I just posted this EXACT same post on BYC. I am lazy but this will fill many here who do not go to BYC in on one of my new Black breeding pens I plan on having this coming seaon. Good things happen to good people. The BV Black Orp pullet at the Crossroads Show, and Champ English at the Central Indiana Poultry Show was raised, conditioned and Shown by Tony Charlton. Tony has Russ Milkey's Black Orp line. I let Russ bring over several hens/pullets 2 years ago and he got to use Carlos Jr with them. And now his line has some outstanding birds. Russ is a good man. GREAT MAN for our hobby. He is all about treating people right, especially the little folks in our great hobby, and Tony & his son is some of the folks who got the chance to Exhibit Russ's line. My very first Orps I ever owned were 5 Russ Milkey hens. The very first day I brought in some new Black Orp blood 4 of the 5 Milkey hens were slaughtered by 2 coons, who I caught up with a few weeks later. The one survivor is my LahFawnDuh. A 100% original Russ Milkey hen. And one of the fab 5 I got my start with. Here is LahFawnDuh and one of her daughters. The daughter does have Carlos Jr blood. LahFawnDuh does not. Haven't shown her. Prolly NEVER will! LahFawnDuh and Clairabelle For now I have the BUS on gaurd and keeping things under his control One of Russ's good friends. And a true friend of mine is Julie Walker. She gave me and Terry Disney each a cockerel who is from Russ's line that now has Carlos Jr in them. Terry had first pick, and I got the runt. His name WAS Bobby Ray. He is now Officer BarrBRADY. Soon will be given the honor of having at LahFawnDuh and Clairabelle Officer BarrBrady Sorry about the blurry face in this pic. I learned alot this year. I learned that a smaller runtier Black cock like my OLE TRALFAMADOR when taken to one of these Speckled Sussex/Buff Orp hens with the narrow butt could make Frank the Brown Red cockerel who is now on FEATHERSITE. And is huge. So BarrBrady's genetics MAY make something special when he gets taken back to his distant aunt LahFawnDuh and daughter. So, that is a breeding plan for early next year.

Hope you all do not mind these oversized pics. Nice day here to take a pic or 6. Hen from last year's breeding of a BUSTOFF offpsring to each other. Same girl. I only kept 3 of last year's Blacks from the BUSTOFF line. The other 2 hens are in with my Cuckoo male I hatched from eggs from the King of the Lavenders of the USA IN honor of the KING, here is HAROLD HAROLD is in with 2 other males. This poor Black is younger and most likely a cull. One of my Black hens got out and as punishment I put her in with Harold. The one Blue pullet is now relieved he has a new woman to harass. Harold is very excited! I really like the feather width on Harold Here is Barr Brady. He is my FREE new addition to my flock. He is 1/2 Russ Milkey line and 1/2 of my original Black line I like this pullet. She has just turned 7 months old. Really like her head and will start her out with Harold then to the Black cocks.
