Goodness, thats is quite the price jump! To bad they did that. they should have honored the price quote they had already given the club. Hope the club can find another place to do the show at a later time. Sorry to hear this.

seems to me the going trend... Here in Oklahoma City area I hear the same problem. The fair grounds want to much.. They seem to enjoy the funds the horse groups bring in. My children in 4-H wanted to show at the State Fair but their was not a poultry division. We need a Poultry Club here in Central Oklahoma to fight back.

Beth, those guys that had the show at the state fair got old and quit. No one ever took it over and they done away with it. Sad thing, all the cages was stored in a building and they needed the room and hauled all the cages to the dump. I hope to start a show up in Watonga, we had one for years and I moved to TN and it was over.

My kids took some of our silkies,Orps and a few turkeys to the free fair. The judge (name slips my mind but I have her card) was part of that club you are speaking of. She said that many of thoes older guys are still around raising thoes birds or at least their off spring. She has some of the cages still in storage. She is part of the family that runs farmers grain here in Edmond. She has offered to help with the starting of the club again. cages, location and even prize money if need be. I would love to see this running again.
