Here are a few black orpingtons about 3-4 months old showing a green sheen. Now according to several breeders info I need to separate any dull birds out of the group and breed green sheen birds to green sheen birds. Any dull birds if they are good type females they can be breed to a rich black green sheen male to see if they will produce offspring with improved green sheen. Rooster that lack green sheen are usually in double error, so I am going to avoid using dull roosters.
