I was wondering if anyone had any tips on breeding bantam orpingtons. I just have a pair right now but I would like to get some of all of the varieties that are currently accepted.

Be sure and get those feathers out of the way so you will have fertile eggs. Jon, went the time gets good I'll send you some eggs. There is some very good bantam breeders on here. Alot has about the same breeding. In fact you can ask and the name Warren Tye comes up alot.

Jon,
I actually pluck the vents on my Orp Bantams. Don't be afraid to pluck quite a bit. Makes for better contact. If there is still a fertility problem, we will A.I. Make sure you have the lights on for 16 hours a day.

I get mine from Twin City Poultry Supply. Tell Vic what you need and he will fix you up. All the poultry supply places has leg bands. I use plastic.

I get mine from Smith Poultry Supply. # 7 works well for most Orpington Bantams. Sometimes you need to use a # 9 on a male.
