Just hatched my 1st of hopefully many more White Orp chicks yesterday. I have been puttin in my incubator eggs every weekend. And on average anywhere from 8 to 10 fertile White eggs from the male I was given to help get me started.

How exciting Bill. Can't wait to watch them grow! Thanks Christina! I am almost as equally excited about getting Black chicks from breeding this Buff Sport to those Black Mottleds I had. I never got a single fertile egg last year from that boy. And I had in with him these 2 Mottleds I have. This year he is breeding them and I think MAYBE the 2 offspring maybe the ones which are barred chicks I hatdch out 2 weeks ago. I really would like if these that hatch from him were all Black to use the genetics of him in with some Blacks. Will be lots of fun either way. I can take any Barreds from him back to White or Black

Very nice looking Ckl and similar to ones I am planning to show at Royal Canberra in June 2012. Love the colour head and chest John! Like Christine your pic has stumulated me into trying to get some decent shots of the current young birds onto my website this weekend. Will update when I have done it.

As promised have updated the photos of this seasons Large White Orpingtons onto my website. Click on this link to view them waningaorpingtons.weebly.com/waninga-gallery-2012.html . If not go to the home page and click on Gallery and then the 2012 drop down box. You will be able to see how they have developed from 9-12 weeks old growers into these 6.5 month birds. Currently sorting out my show team for the Canberra Royal show ( similar in size and stature to the US Cross Roads event I think- last time there were 5000 birds exhibited. Am taking 8 Whites) and these two are in the mix to go.

Good luck at the show with your whites!! I hope to have my birds thicker and deeper. They have gotten better over the years, but as with most things I want them better and better. I really admire the ones you have raised. Very nice.
